Mainland Lagos doesn’t always get the hype it deserves. Everyone talks about the Island, but if you really pay attention and look beyond the hype, the Mainland has its own fair share of premium dining options that are a must Visit. On the mainland, there's less noise and less pressure. Just good food, good spaces, and places you can actually return to.
If you’re tired of guessing where to eat and just want solid spots that deliver, start here.

The first thing you notice about The Grid is how easy it is to settle in. It feels like a place you can walk into for a quick meal and end up staying way longer than you planned.
The space itself does a lot of the work. There’s a mix of indoor dining, outdoor seating, and a bar area, so you’re not boxed into one kind of experience. You can come for a quiet lunch, a casual date, or even a late night hangout, and it still works.

Address: 58a Isaac John St, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, Nigeria
Now this spot is an old mainland favourite, probably the oldest on this list. While the exact date of launch is unknown, Orchid Bistro has been around for over 11 years and is still standing. I think that reputation speaks for itself.
Like the name suggests, this restaurant takes its inspiration from orchids, plants and nature in general. 4. Idapo Lounge
Address: 122 Joel Ogunnaike St, Marriott Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos
Idapo Lounge is an upscale bar and lounge located at Marriott Hotel in Ikeja GRA that is open 24 hours daily. This place leans more into the social side of dining. You’re not just coming here to eat, you’re coming for the experience.
Idapo Lounge is an old Mainland favourite, it's known for its unique cubed walls and high-ceilings that greatly enhance the ambience of the lounge. Many people tend to visit for casual and celebratory dinners, business brunches, breakfast and more. This spot is very aesthetically pleasing and doesn't have a picture policy except for those coming in with digital cameras. Digital camera shoots at the Lounge will incur a cost that is charged in dollars. Don't say we never told you.
One of the best things at Idapo Lounge is also the budget friendly menu. For a restaurant at a 4 star hotel, their prices are extremely pocket friendly with great food as well. 5. IKOKO
Address: 23b Isaac John St, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, Nigeria
Ikoko is one of the newest spots on the Mainland, and you can tell it was built to stand out. The first thing people notice is the space itself. It’s bright, airy, and intentionally designed to feel different from the typical Lagos restaurant.
There’s also a strong design identity behind it. The name “Ikoko” is of Yoruba origin and it translates to the word clay pot in Yoruba. That idea shows up in the space through earthy tones, warm textures, clay and pastel like colours and a mix of modern and cultural elements. It’s not random decor, it actually feels thought through.
If you thought this restaurant served native dishes because of its name, you're dead wrong. They offer all kinds of dishes from intercontinental to locally influenced meals. Their jollof pot, for example, has been described as rich and packed with flavour, combining rice, seafood, and meat in one dish.
Despite some mixed reviews, it’s still one of the most talked-about new spots in Ikeja. And when a place gets the space, the energy, and even part of the food right, it becomes somewhere people want to try for themselves.
Sometimes visiting a restaurant isn't just about the meal, it's about experiencing it and deciding for yourself if it lives up to the hype.
